Bread& is a start-up artisan baker creating high-quality products. They instructed JK to find a production area within the geographic area of Tyneside to Teesside, that met the food hygiene requirements at a reasonable cost.
The supply of industrial units of less than 1000 ft.² was limited to three units across the whole region but none could be adapted to meet the food hygiene requirements within budget. JK considered the challenges and identified a unit fitted out as a laboratory that could be adapted at a reasonable cost. Terms for a lease were negotiated at a fair market rent.
